RIP Renato Filippin - Message from ACSA

Written on November 6, 2020
Sad and upset, we have to say goodbye to Renato Filippin Shihan, 7th Dan Aikikai. He passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 1st. With Renato we are losing an Aikidoka from the very beginning in Switzerland.
He has been active and committed for over 50 years. During this time he has always supported the ACSA with a lot of energy and passion, most recently at the major event for our anniversary last year. Renato not only taught in his own dojo, but also gave seminars at home and abroad.
Aikido for children and young people was also very important to Renato. Together with Amadea Thoma, he successfully established Aikido for children and young people in St. Gallen and also accompanied his group to international courses. In addition, he was the first person responsible for their Youth Working Group in the IAF.
We are not only losing a great Aikido role model, but also a good friend. We wish Amadea and her families a lot of strength for this difficult time!
